Mother of Christ Julinoel is a 97-bed nonsectarian assisted living facility.  The facilitators and staff really care about the residents.  There is something to do every day (see Calendar of Events), and there are also birthday parties once a month, and arrangements are always made during the holidays to give residents happiness and give them reason to be proud of their home.  MOCJ, as Mother of Christ Julinoel is affectionately called, provides or arranges safe transportation to/from stores/doctors/hospitals.  Rooms are semi-private, and room upkeep is performed by staff if the resident wishes or is not able to do it him/herself.  The food is excellent.  You can even get seconds if you want.

When you get up in the morning, you can take a shower, or if you are non-ambulatory, or need assistance in this task, staff will perform this task. You can have a cup of coffee with your meals, and a cold drink, too.  Breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m. and activities usually start around 9 or 9:30 a.m.  Snack is given out at 10 a.m.    Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m.  There are arts & crafts or you can play the Wii, pool, or air hockey.  Another snack is given at 2 p.m.  You can read a book or take a nice nap and awake refreshed, or even watch your stories.  Family can visit at any time, residents may go out with family, and family or friends can bring gifts to the resident.  Supper is served at 4:30 and is a very social time for residents.  You can watch television, work crafts, write, or read.  The last snack of the day is served at 8 p.m.  Lights go out in the facility at 9 p.m. and bedtime is 10 p.m.  And staff answers call lights all through the night or day.

If you smoke, you would smoke outdoors, except in case of inclement weather.  In that case, they have a smoke room that will be opened to residents several times a day.  And in the event of a power shortage or outage, Mother of Christ Julinoel has its own generator.  Mother of Christ Julinoel is an equal opportunity facility and does not discriminate based up on gender, race, ethnicity, sexual preference, age, or religion.  Mother of Christ Julinoel supports our troops and Veterans.  The staff are warm-hearted and kind.  They are willing to fill everyone's needs.

There is a newsletter that the residents can participate in, and plans are in the works for a new computer room for the residents to learn computer skills so that they may get a career if they wish, or they can go online to chat with family members and communicate back and forth with email.  Everyone is welcome at Mother of Christ Julinoel.  I hope you visit us soon.  I can't wait to meet you!

Ms. Nancy Caudill says:

"I would like to donate to Mother of Christ Julinoel, the facility is such a Godsend.  I really love the people here, both staff and residents, and I like to see everyone happy.  I do not know what would happen if Father Joseph Ekweariri, and Mother of Christ Julinoel were not here, what would happen to these wonderful residents?  Where would they go?  Some of them are cast-offs and their families forget they are around, and still others have no families.  This facility is a very good facility and they treat their residents respectfully.  Unfortunately, I am not in a financial position to donate.

If I was able-bodied, I would come play games with the residents.  We would sing songs and do exercises and play bingo.  My heart goes out to these residents, cast off and most of them forgotten - out of sight, out of mind.  I notice the residents are so calm here, not like when it was under another name and other management.  If people cannot donate money, maybe they could buy an item that Mother of Christ Julinoel needs.

I like the television and leather sofas, but I wish it was a bigger screen for the folks because most of the residents have vision problems and cannot see the smaller screen that well.  Also, the living area could be expanded.  I would like to bring people to see the facility, see how well it is run.  They could even donate time to play games or put puzzles together with the residents.  I thought that if I told all of you nice people out there, you would help Mother of Christ Julinoel to achieve its goals to give the residents a well-rounded living experience."
