Innocent Ekweariri Sr., at cock crow began the day with prayer and counsel to his seven sons and three daughters. Often he began the counsel with the following biblical moral/spiritual question: "What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but suffers the loss of his own soul? At other times when confronted with challenging life situations, he encouraged himself saying: “running God’s errand, that’s life!

The above perspective of the meaning of life, and the biblical moral/spiritual question combined to form the single determining factor for the decision of the founder of MOCJ to dedicate his life at 17 years of age to care for and serve humanity with preferential option for the poor, vulnerable, and disadvantaged of our common humanity.

After many years of leadership in the healthcare hospital setting, the life-long desire to found a ministry dedicated to the poor, vulnerable, and disadvantaged of society became a reality when, on March 9, 2004, MOCJ was founded and incorporated in the State of Texas as a not-for-profit 501(c)3 Corporation.

On September 27, 2006, the Commonwealth of Virginia authorized the corporation to transact business in the State of Virginia. On December 15, 2006 with sponsorship and financial guarantee from Ms. Florin D'Souza, MOCJ purchased former "Dogwood Estates", an Adult Assisted Living and Residential facility in the rural city of Tazewell, Virginia.
On April 7, 2010, MOCJ was authorized to do business in the State of West Virginia.

Naming the Facility

As later approved by its Board of Directors, the name “Mother of Christ Julinoel” was coined and chosen SPECIFICALLY to visualize the Mission, Values, and Vision of the Corporation. The Corporation derives its name partly from biblical images- Jesus and his mother Mary – as a reminder of Mary’s dedication and love to care of Jesus that MOCJ staff must emulate.“Julinoel” is a memorial acronym of deceased parents, sibling, and best friend of the founder of MOCJ, all of whom selflessly dedicated their lives to helping the poor and disadvantaged. The acronym enabled the founder to always remember his promise to his parents to dedicate his priestly ministry to the running of God’s errands, in the care and service of the poor, vulnerable, and disadvantaged.

The physical location of the facility is 520 Dogwood Rd, Tazewell, Virginia 24651; Tel: 276-988-7551;                     Fax: 276-988-5679,                            Office Fax: 276-988-7377. MOCJ will operate in mostly, but not limited to RURAL COMMUNITIES.
