Innocent Ekweariri Sr., at cock crow began the day with prayer and counsel to his seven sons and three daughters. Often he began the counsel with the following biblical moral/spiritual question: "What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but suffers the loss of his own soul? At other times when confronted with challenging life situations, he encouraged himself saying: “running God’s errand, that’s life!
The above perspective of the meaning of life, and the biblical moral/spiritual question combined to form the single determining factor for the decision of the founder of MOCJ to dedicate his life at 17 years of age to care for and serve humanity with preferential option for the poor, vulnerable, and disadvantaged of our common humanity.
After many years of leadership in the healthcare hospital setting, the life-long desire to found a ministry dedicated to the poor, vulnerable, and disadvantaged of society became a reality when, on March 9, 2004, MOCJ was founded and incorporated in the State of Texas as a not-for-profit 501(c)3 Corporation.
On September 27, 2006, the Commonwealth of Virginia authorized the corporation to transact business in the State of Virginia. On December 15, 2006 with sponsorship and financial guarantee from Ms. Florin D'Souza, MOCJ purchased former "Dogwood Estates", an Adult Assisted Living and Residential facility in the rural city of Tazewell, Virginia. On April 7, 2010, MOCJ was authorized to do business in the State of West Virginia.
